About Us

Hi, I’m Geoff, and my backyard was a wreck – or at least it started out that way. We’ve lived in our current house for over a decade and it was a fixer-upper when we first got it – but after so much time getting the inside right it’s time to move outside.

When I started looking into how to make proper use of my backyard I realized that there was an opportunity to share what I’ve learned as I’ve learned it. I’m no expert but I’ll share what I find on various topics that make up living outdoors.

We live fairly close to the Canadian border, so the focus for this site is really around making your yard livable in the northern states and Canadian provinces – and that means 4 seasons of change.
